Material Properties
Solid phenolic resin is a yellow, transparent, amorphous block-like substance, which is reddish due to the inclusion of free phenol. The average specific gravity of the entity is about 1.7. It is easily soluble in alcohol and insoluble in water. It is stable to water, weak acid and weak base solutions. Resin made by polycondensation of phenol and formaldehyde under catalyst conditions, neutralization, and washing with water. Due to the different catalysts selected, they can be divided into thermosetting and thermoplastic types. Phenolic resin has good acid resistance, mechanical properties and heat resistance, and is widely used in industries such as anti-corrosion engineering, adhesives, flame retardant materials, and grinding wheel manufacturing. Chemical Resistance Properties
The crosslinked phenolic resin resists the decomposition of any chemical substance, such as gasoline, petroleum, alcohols, ethylene glycol, oils and various hydrocarbons. Because of its anti-chemical stability, it is suitable for making filter materials for kitchen and bathroom appliances (phenolic fiber), drinking water purification equipment (phenolic carbon fiber), bakelite tea trays and tea sets, and is widely used in cans and cans (national standard GB05009.069-2003), liquid containers and other food and beverage packaging materials.

It has self-extinguishing property and can also withstand concentrated hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid but has poor resistance to sulfuric acid, nitric acid and strong alkali. It is mainly used as protective clothing and flame-resistant fabrics or interior decorations. It can also be used as insulation, heat insulation and insulation, filter materials, etc. It can also be processed into low-strength, low-modulus carbon fibers, activated carbon fibers and ion exchange fibers.
